The Honey Pot (1967) DVD
The plot
A wealthy man in Venice invites three women from his past to visit, claiming that his life is nearing its end. With an assistant helping to arrange the performance, he sets a trap for their expectations about his fortune. Then a death makes the supposed game alarmingly real. Rex Harrison, Susan Hayward, Cliff Robertson and Maggie Smith star in Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s elaborate comedy-mystery. Shifting motives and theatrical deception are the attraction here, making The Honey Pot an appealing evening’s viewing for anyone who enjoys a polished ensemble and a puzzle in which appearances keep changing.
