The plot
A confident thief recruits a nightclub performer for an elaborate plan to steal a wealthy collector's prized statuette. Her resemblance to the collector's late wife should make her the perfect distraction, but the people involved prove far less predictable than the thief's carefully imagined scheme. Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine trade charm and surprises opposite Herbert Lom in Ronald Neame's caper comedy.
