The Fortune (1975) DVD
The plot
Two opportunists believe that a wealthy young woman offers the solution to their problems. Their efforts to control her fortune become tangled in a sham marriage, jealousy and schemes that expose just how poorly either man understands the situation he has created. Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson and Stockard Channing star in Mike Nichols’s 1920s-set comedy. The Fortune turns greed and romantic manipulation into an awkward three-way contest, with its characters repeatedly undermining their own ambitions. It is a selection for viewers drawn to dark farce and the distinctive screen personalities of its three leads.
