Whore (1991) DVD
The plot
Liz has learned to survive on the streets of Los Angeles, but survival leaves little room for safety or trust. As she recounts the experiences that brought her there, encounters with customers and her controlling pimp expose the danger behind her blunt, sometimes darkly funny observations. Theresa Russell leads Ken Russell’s 1991 drama, with Benjamin Mouton and Antonio Fargas. Direct addresses to the audience give this adult character study an unusually confrontational voice, making it a distinctive choice for viewers exploring the director’s less conventional films.
