The Kindred (1987) DVD
The plot
His dying mother asks John Hollins to destroy the research she has kept hidden at her remote house. Arriving with fellow scientists, he finds that her genetic experiments have left something alive behind, while another researcher sees an opportunity to continue the work. David Allen Brooks, Rod Steiger, Amanda Pays and Kim Hunter star in this science-fiction horror film. A family secret supplies the mystery, but the creature effects and increasingly dangerous house turn the investigation into a fight to escape. The Kindred suits a horror night built around practical monsters and experiments that should never have left the laboratory.
