The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957) DVD
The plot
After a mysterious exposure, Scott Carey begins to shrink. As doctors struggle to explain his condition, familiar rooms and ordinary household creatures become a landscape of hazards. Survival demands ingenuity, but each change in scale also forces Scott to reconsider his place in the world. Grant Williams stars in Jack Arnold’s adaptation of Richard Matheson’s novel, with a screenplay by Matheson. The film turns a striking science-fiction premise into a personal struggle, pairing suspenseful physical obstacles with questions about identity and existence. It remains an intriguing selection for viewers who like imaginative genre stories with something to ponder afterward.
