The Climb (1986) DVD
The plot
An expedition sets its sights on Nanga Parbat, where severe conditions test the climbers’ endurance and their ability to work together. As the challenge intensifies, Hermann Buhl’s determination places personal resolve alongside the practical demands of surviving on the mountain. Bruce Greenwood stars as Buhl in Donald Shebib’s dramatization of the 1953 expedition. The Climb is a choice for viewers who enjoy adventure shaped by real events, with the mountain itself providing the central obstacle. Its appeal lies in the tension between preparation, leadership and the decisions that must be made when the summit seems within reach.
