Soft Beds, Hard Battles (1974) DVD — Undercovers Hero
The plot
In occupied Paris, a brothel becomes an unlikely meeting place for German officers, concealed enemies and members of the French Resistance. Madame Grenier and her associates turn the establishment's unusual position to their advantage. Keeping their activities hidden requires improvisation as visitors arrive with very different loyalties. Peter Sellers takes on several roles alongside Lila Kedrova and Curd Jurgens in Roy Boulting's wartime comedy. Disguises and competing identities give the farce its momentum, with Sellers moving between figures on different sides of the conflict. Also known as Undercovers Hero, the film offers another multiple-character performance for collectors exploring his work.
