One of the Hollywood Ten (2000) DVD — Remastered
The plot
Filmmaker Herbert Biberman refuses to cooperate with the congressional investigation of Hollywood and finds his career, freedom and family life under threat. After imprisonment and blacklisting, he attempts to make Salt of the Earth outside the studio system, facing resistance that extends far beyond the set. Jeff Goldblum plays Biberman alongside Greta Scacchi as actress Gale Sondergaard in Karl Francis's drama. The story connects the personal cost of political pressure with the practical struggle to keep making films. For viewers interested in Hollywood history, it offers a perspective on the people behind the blacklist and the determination required to work against it. This is the remastered edition.
