The plot
A young Italian American and a young Chinese American begin a romance across the boundaries of their New York neighborhoods. As gangs clash around them, their private relationship becomes entangled in loyalties and rivalries they cannot easily escape. Abel Ferrara directs this urban love story with Sari Chang, James Russo and David Caruso. The contrast between youthful romance and street violence makes it a striking choice for viewers drawn to the darker edge of 1980s independent cinema.
