Wanted for Murder (1946) DVD
The plot
A series of stranglings unsettles London while a seemingly respectable man struggles with the legacy of his father, a hangman. His relationship with a young woman offers the possibility of a different future. It also places her close to impulses he cannot easily control as the investigation draws nearer. Eric Portman, Dulcie Gray and Derek Farr star in Lawrence Huntington’s psychological crime film. The suspense comes from the distance between an ordinary social appearance and the violence hidden beneath it. This British thriller is an engaging choice for collectors who enjoy stories that reveal the killer’s inner life while following the danger closing around those who trust him.
