True Identity (1991) DVD
The plot
During a frightening flight, struggling actor Miles Pope hears a fellow passenger confess that he is a supposedly dead crime boss. When the plane lands safely, Miles knows a secret that could get him killed. His acting ambitions suddenly become useful as he adopts disguises to stay ahead of the people pursuing him. Lenny Henry and Frank Langella star in Charles Lane’s comedy. Makeup, mistaken assumptions and improvised performances turn the escape into an unusual test of Miles’s abilities. The film offers a mixture of crime farce and identity comedy, with an aspiring performer finally finding an audience whose reaction matters far more than the outcome of an audition.
