The Unholy (1988) DVD — Uncut Version
The plot
Father Michael arrives at a New Orleans parish where earlier priests have died under disturbing circumstances. His new appointment draws him into a struggle with a seductive evil that tests both his faith and his ability to recognize danger. The church offers little shelter from the force waiting for him. Ben Cross stars with Ned Beatty, Hal Holbrook and Trevor Howard in Camilo Vila’s supernatural horror film. Religious imagery and temptation give the mystery an uneasy atmosphere as the priest learns more about his predecessors. For collectors of 1980s horror, it offers a sinister encounter between spiritual conviction and a threat that knows how to exploit it.
