The Reptile (1966) DVD
The plot
After his brother’s unexplained death, a man and his wife move into the house they have inherited. Their new Cornish neighbors are reluctant to talk, and further deaths suggest that something more than illness is at work. The couple’s search for answers draws them toward a household guarding a terrible secret. John Gilling directs this Hammer mystery with Noel Willman, Jacqueline Pearce, Ray Barrett and Jennifer Daniel. Its appeal lies in the slow discovery of a hidden menace within an apparently quiet village. For a gothic horror evening, it offers atmosphere, suspicion and a creature story rooted in family tragedy.
