The Prince Who Was a Thief (1951) DVD
The plot
A thief ordered to kill an infant prince instead raises the child as his own. Years later, Julna has become an accomplished thief without knowing the full importance of his birth. A stolen pearl, a scheming ruler and a fearless young pickpocket draw him into the affairs of the palace. Tony Curtis and Piper Laurie lead this adventure directed by Rudolph Maté, with Everett Sloane as Julna’s adoptive father. Swordplay and comic thefts share the screen with romantic complications and a claim to the throne. It is a lively choice for a classic adventure night, especially for collectors following Curtis’s early leading roles.
