The Lift (1983) DVD
The plot
When an office-building elevator begins causing deadly accidents, technician Felix cannot find a normal mechanical explanation. Working with a reporter, he follows the problem beyond the cables and controls toward a supplier whose technology may conceal something far more disturbing. Huub Stapel and Willeke van Ammelrooy star in Dick Maas’s horror film, which turns a familiar everyday space into a source of dread. The investigation gives the premise a mystery to follow while the lift itself supplies an unpredictable threat. It is an unusual selection for a horror collection built around ordinary machines behaving in extraordinary ways.
