The Addiction (1995) DVD — Remastered
The plot
A philosophy student is attacked on a New York street and develops a craving she cannot explain away. As Kathleen tries to continue her studies, the need for blood transforms her relationships and turns abstract questions about evil into immediate personal problems. Encounters with others who understand her condition complicate any hope of an easy escape. Lili Taylor stars with Christopher Walken and Annabella Sciorra in Abel Ferrara's black-and-white vampire drama. The city setting and philosophical conversations give its horror an unusual texture. For viewers who want a vampire film concerned with dependence, guilt and responsibility as well as appetite, The Addiction offers a distinctive direction.
