She's Gotta Have It (1986) — 2-DVD Edition

The plot

Nola Darling enjoys her independence and refuses to let any one of her three lovers define her life. Each man believes he understands what she needs, but their competing expectations reveal as much about them as about her. In Brooklyn, affection and jealousy become part of an argument over who gets to set the terms of a relationship. Tracy Camilla Johns leads Spike Lee's feature debut, with Tommy Redmond Hicks, John Canada Terrell and Lee among the cast. Its intimate setting and direct approach make the characters' competing viewpoints central to the experience. This two-DVD edition offers collectors an early chapter in Lee's filmmaking career.
