Percy & Thunder (1993) DVD
The plot
A veteran fighter sees promise in a younger boxer and helps guide him toward the professional spotlight. Their partnership brings experience and ambition together, but the business surrounding the ring puts their trust to the test. Success may demand compromises that neither man expected when they began. James Earl Jones and Courtney B. Vance lead Ivan Dixon's boxing drama, with Billy Dee Williams among the cast. The story gives the relationship between trainer and fighter as much weight as the competition itself. It is a thoughtful choice for sports-film viewers interested in loyalty, exploitation and the people behind an athlete's rise.
