Kandyland (1987) DVD
The plot
Dissatisfied with her job and relationship, Joni is attracted to the more glamorous life of dancer Harlow Divine. Taking work at the same nightclub seems to offer a fresh start, but the pressures behind the performances soon challenge both her new friendship and her plans for independence. Kim Evenson stars with Sandahl Bergman and Charles Laulette in Robert Schnitzer's drama. The contrast between the club's promise and its harsher realities gives the story a clear emotional stake, making it a choice for viewers interested in 1980s dramas about ambition and difficult personal decisions.
