Monkey Fist, Floating Snake (1979) DVD
The plot
A young student learns the demanding Monkey style from an experienced martial artist, but training alone will not settle the conflicts around them. Rival fighters force the pupil to put his lessons into practice, turning the path toward mastery into a test of persistence, judgment and nerve. Directed by Law Chi and featuring Chan Muk-chuen and Chang Yi, this kung fu comedy builds its appeal around contrasting fighting styles and the teacher-student relationship. It is a choice for viewers exploring independent late-1970s martial-arts films and the inventive physical possibilities of Monkey-style action.
