Mindwalk (1990) DVD
The plot
A politician recovering from electoral defeat visits a poet friend in France. At Mont Saint-Michel they meet a physicist, and a day of walking becomes an extended exchange about science, politics and the connections between individual decisions and the wider world. Liv Ullmann, Sam Waterston and John Heard lead Bernt Capra's conversation-driven drama. Its pleasure lies in following ideas as they are challenged from different perspectives, with the historic island setting giving the discussion room to breathe. It is a distinctive choice for viewers who prefer thoughtful debate and character interaction to a conventional action-led plot.
