Lost Angels (1989) DVD
The plot
After a confrontation with the police, troubled Los Angeles teenager Tim Doolan is sent to a private psychiatric facility. Distrustful of the adults around him, he gradually forms a connection with a doctor willing to listen, opening a possibility of change neither can take for granted. Adam Horovitz and Donald Sutherland star in Hugh Hudson's drama, with Amy Locane among the cast. The relationship between an angry young patient and his physician gives the film its emotional center. It is a thoughtful choice for viewers interested in difficult adolescence, strained families and character-driven stories about earning another person's trust.
