I Ought to Be in Pictures (1982) DVD
The plot
Teenage Libby arrives in Hollywood hoping to become an actress and reconnect with the father who left her years earlier. Herb, a struggling screenwriter, is unprepared for either request, and her determination forces him to confront responsibilities he has long avoided. Walter Matthau, Dinah Manoff and Ann-Margret star in Herbert Ross's adaptation of Neil Simon's play. Sharp exchanges sit alongside the awkward work of rebuilding a family, making this comedy-drama an engaging choice for viewers who enjoy character-driven stories and uneasy second chances.
