Harrison Bergeron (1995) DVD
The plot
In a future America that enforces equality by suppressing individual ability, Harrison Bergeron's intelligence makes him a problem for the authorities. When he is drawn behind the machinery of government, he discovers a world very different from the one ordinary citizens are permitted to know. Sean Astin stars with Christopher Plummer and Eugene Levy in Bruce Pittman's adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's short story. The clash between independent thought and official conformity gives this science-fiction drama a provocative premise for viewers who enjoy dystopian stories built around difficult choices.
