Friends (1971) DVD
The plot
Two lonely teenagers meet in Paris and leave the city behind for a cottage in the French countryside. Their refuge gives them space to build a life together, but love and newfound independence soon bring responsibilities they are scarcely prepared to face. Sean Bury and Anicée Alvina lead Lewis Gilbert's romantic drama, with songs by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. The contrast between a youthful dream of escape and the demands of growing up gives this early-1970s romance its bittersweet appeal.
