Foreign Student (1994) DVD
The plot
A young French exchange student arrives at a college in the American South during the 1950s. New friendships introduce him to unfamiliar customs, but falling in love with a Black schoolteacher brings him face to face with the racial boundaries of the world around him. Marco Hofschneider and Robin Givens star in Eva Sereny's romantic drama, with Rick Johnson. The perspective of an outsider gives this coming-of-age story its point of discovery, making it a thoughtful selection for viewers interested in romance shaped by cultural and social divides.
