The plot
A wealthy widow hires her lawyer to arrange marriages for her three daughters, with the prospective husbands already selected. The assignment becomes complicated when the lawyer falls for one of the women himself, putting his professional fee and his romantic future on opposing sides. Kirk Douglas, Mitzi Gaynor and Gig Young star in Michael Gordon's romantic comedy, with Thelma Ritter as the scheming mother. Matchmaking, crossed intentions and a lawyer outmaneuvered by love make it an appealing choice for fans of polished 1960s comedies.
