Winterhawk (1975) DVD
The plot
With smallpox threatening his Blackfoot community, Winterhawk goes in search of medicine. An encounter with white traders ends in violence, and his desperate mission leads to the abduction of a young woman and her brother. A pursuit across the frontier brings the chief into conflict with people who understand little of what drove him there. Michael Dante plays Winterhawk in Charles B. Pierce’s 1975 Western, alongside Leif Erickson, Woody Strode and Dawn Wells. The story combines a wilderness chase with the consequences of mistrust between communities.
