Warn That Man (1943) DVD
The plot
Nazi agents take control of an English country house in preparation for the arrival of an important visitor. Their kidnapping plan depends on maintaining the deception until he arrives. A group of resourceful Britons becomes the unexpected obstacle between the conspirators and their intended captive. Gordon Harker, Jean Kent and Raymond Lovell feature in Lawrence Huntington’s wartime comedy-thriller. The confined setting gives quick thinking and suspicion as much importance as force, while comic moments interrupt the danger. It is an entertaining selection for viewers interested in British home-front films where an ordinary gathering becomes a small but urgent act of resistance.
