The Sisterhood (1988) DVD
The plot
In a devastated future, armed rulers treat women as possessions and survival depends on finding protection. A group of women warriors offers another possibility: resistance. Their struggle brings captives, fighters and rival powers together in a landscape where ordinary rules have collapsed. Rebecca Holden, Lynn-Holly Johnson and Chuck Wagner star in Cirio H. Santiago’s blend of science fiction, action and fantasy. The story’s appeal lies in its reversal of the usual rescue adventure, placing women’s survival and fighting strength at its center. It is a distinctive choice for a collection of 1980s post-apocalyptic genre films.
