The Paperboy (1994) DVD
The plot
Melissa returns to her hometown with her daughter after a death in the family. A helpful young paperboy seems eager to make their stay easier, but his attention soon becomes intrusive. Johnny has decided that they belong in his life, and anyone who challenges that fantasy becomes an obstacle. Alexandra Paul and Marc Marut anchor Douglas Jackson’s thriller about a welcome that turns into an invasion. Domestic routines and neighborhood familiarity become sources of unease as Melissa recognizes the danger behind Johnny’s need for affection. It is a tense choice for fans of 1990s psychological horror and stories about obsession close to home.
