The Last Mercenary (2021) DVD
The plot
A former French secret agent returns from hiding when his estranged son is falsely accused and becomes a target. Clearing the young man’s name requires old skills and unlikely assistance, but the operative faces an equally awkward challenge: admitting that he is the father his son has never known. Jean-Claude Van Damme leads this action comedy as Richard Brumère, a veteran whose professional confidence does not make family life any simpler. Disguises, pursuit and parental misunderstandings give the rescue mission a lighter tone. It is a change of pace for viewers who enjoy seeing an established action star play with his screen persona.
