The Crimson Pirate (1952) DVD
The plot
Captain Vallo sees a chance for profit when a captured ship draws his pirate crew into an island rebellion. Selling weapons to the rebels seems straightforward, but divided loyalties and an attraction to the rebel leader’s daughter complicate his plans. Before long, choosing a side matters as much as claiming the loot. Burt Lancaster and Nick Cravat bring their physical partnership to Robert Siodmak’s colorful adventure, with Eva Bartok as Consuelo. The Crimson Pirate combines daring escapes, broad comedy and romantic adventure—a spirited selection for anyone who enjoys swashbucklers with more than a little mischief.
