The Ambulance (1990) DVD — Remastered
The plot
Comic-book artist Josh meets a woman on a New York street, only to see her collapse and leave in an ambulance. When he tries to find her, no hospital can account for her arrival. Discovering that she is not the only person to disappear sends him after a vehicle whose reassuring appearance hides a disturbing purpose. Eric Roberts and James Earl Jones star in Larry Cohen's thriller, with Janine Turner as the missing woman. The investigation combines street-level suspense with the unsettling idea that emergency help might be the danger itself. For fans of Cohen's inventive twists on everyday fears, The Ambulance makes an intriguing addition to a thriller shelf.
