The 7 Grandmasters (1977) DVD
The plot
A celebrated martial-arts master receives recognition that should mark the peak of his career. Instead of accepting the honor without question, he sets out to test himself against other masters. The journey becomes a succession of challenges in which reputation must be supported by skill, and each opponent offers a different obstacle. Jack Long and Lee Yi-min feature in Joseph Kuo's kung fu adventure. Its appeal is the progression from one encounter to the next: contrasting techniques, changing opponents and the demands of maintaining a hard-earned position. For fans of traditional martial-arts films built around training and challenge matches, The 7 Grandmasters provides a focused showcase.
