The 317th Platoon (1965) DVD — Remastered
The plot
Indochina, 1954: an isolated platoon receives orders to withdraw through hostile territory. Its young lieutenant must guide French and Laotian troops through exhausting terrain, while an experienced sergeant measures each decision against the realities of survival. Rain, fatigue and the threat of attack steadily reduce the distance between military plans and personal limits. Jacques Perrin and Bruno Cremer star in Pierre Schoendoerffer's war drama. The contrast between inexperienced command and hard-earned judgment gives the retreat its human focus. This remastered DVD retains the existing French soundtrack and English subtitles, offering viewers interested in demanding, ground-level war stories a film centered on endurance and responsibility.
