Rough Cut (1980) DVD
The plot
An accomplished jewel thief becomes involved with a woman whose own taste for theft hides a complication: a determined detective hopes to use her to catch him. A valuable shipment offers the prospect of a major score, but attraction and deception make the partnership difficult to read. Burt Reynolds, Lesley-Anne Down and David Niven bring contrasting styles to Don Siegel's romantic caper. The pleasures are in the elaborate planning and the suspicion that each participant is playing a different game. For viewers who enjoy heist films with a lighter touch, Rough Cut pairs the mechanics of a robbery with an uncertain romance.
