Gideon (1998) DVD
The plot
Gideon Dobbs, a younger man with an intellectual disability, moves into a retirement home whose residents have largely stopped looking forward to life. His openness and curiosity disrupt their settled routines, encouraging friendships and reminding his new neighbors that they still have something to discover. Christopher Lambert joins Charlton Heston, Carroll O'Connor and Shirley Jones in Claudia Hoover's gentle ensemble drama. The pleasure lies in the connections between generations and a cast of familiar faces, making it a warm choice for viewers drawn to stories of companionship.
