Blithe Spirit (1945) DVD
The plot
A novelist invites a medium to conduct a séance as research for his next book. Instead of collecting material, he brings back the ghost of his first wife, whose presence turns his current marriage into a decidedly crowded arrangement. Rex Harrison, Kay Hammond, Constance Cummings and Margaret Rutherford star in David Lean's adaptation of Noël Coward's play. Its mix of marital sparring and supernatural mischief makes a lively choice for a classic British comedy evening.
